Week 3 Learning: Easter!
These activities are not divided by days, but rather they are divided by 3 Activities for each subject area to gives you more flexibility.
If you need a break...after lunch, Pre-K always has a 40 minute rest time (where we lay quietly and read books, or sleep if we want to). You can tell your child that their teacher says they still have to rest even at home, because this is still a school day! :)

Morning Meeting
Literacy Activities #1:
Move and Learn: Workout with the letter sounds
Practice: Call out letters and have your child write the letter and tell you the sound.
Watch/Read: Easter (class code is yyx7884)
- Take the quiz at the end of the book. You will need to read the questions and answers to your child.
Science Activities #1:
- Learn: Animals that are born from eggs are called oviparous animals. Can you say that? O-vi-par-ous.
- Think: Can you name some oviparous animals? (chickens, ducks, snakes, birds, fish, alligators)
- Read: Hatching Eggs
- Sort oviparous and non-oviparous animals
Math Activities #1:
- Move: Numbers in the teens
- Learn: about the numbers 17 and 18. Before you start, go to "file" then "save a copy" to have your child's own copy to play with.
- Practice: Complete practice pages 10.7 and 10.8
- Math Journal: Color, cut, and glue the 10.7 and 10.8 math journal pages in their math journal.

Make an easter egg drawing. Talk about what each color represents.

Yellow- God's perfect light

Red- the blood Jesus shed for us

Blue- the baptism that identifies us with Jesus

Purple- the crown of life (royalty)

Movement and PE Activities #1:
- Place excerise activities inside of plastic easter eggs, hide them, and have the kids find the eggs and complete the activity inside. Here are some examples below.

Literacy Activities #2:
Move and Learn: Letter fluency (push "present" at the top right) When a letter appears, they will say the letter and sound. When an exercise appears, they will do that activity.
Read: Ducks (for this website, click on log in, then students and educators, and then use Class Code: yyx7884)
- What are some ways that the different ducks are the same?
- Is a duck an oviparous animal ?
Science Activities #2:
- Review: Do you remember what an oviparous animal is? (An animal that hatches from an egg)
- Activity: Sink or Float
- Sink or Float egg activity you can do still this activity whether or not you have plastic eggs. If the egg has a hole in it, place some tape over it so the egg doesn't take on water.
- Have them predict which objects they place inside of the eggs will float and which ones will sink.
Math Activities #2:
- Move: Whole Body Counting to 20
- Learn: about the�numbers 19 and 20. Before you start, go to "file" then "save a copy" to have your child's own copy to play with.
- Practice: Complete practice pages 10.9 and 10.10
- Math Journal: Color, cut, and glue the 10.9 and 10.10 math journal pages in their math journal.

Literacy Activities #3
- Move and Learn: Freeze Dance
- Make: Easter Egg easy words. Use a plastic egg and write word endings on one side like -at, -ig, -ot, or -et. On the smaller side, write consonants that will go along with the endings as the egg is twisted.
Science Activities #3:
- Sing Colors of the Rainbow
- Think: What will happen if a jellybean gets wet?
- Jelly beans are made and coated with sugar, so once you add water to it, the coloring and coat begin to dissolve very quickly. This makes it the perfect activity for preschoolers with minimal patience!
Math Activities #3:
- Move: Counting to 20
- Learn: We will now start exploring measurement. Before you start, go to "file" then "save a copy" to have your child's own copy to play with.
- Practice: Complete practice pages 11.1 and 11.2
- Math Journal: Color, cut, and glue the 11.1 and 11.2 math journal pages in their math journal.
