Week 2 Learning: Spring!
These activities are not divided by days, but rather they are divided by 3 Activities for each subject area to gives you more flexibility.
Have a great day! If you need a break...after lunch, Pre-K always has a 40 minute rest time (where we lay quietly and read books, or sleep if we want to). You can tell your child that their teacher says they still have to rest even at home, because this is still a school day! :)

DIY (do it yourself) Morning Meeting
Literacy Activities #1:
Move and Learn: Springtime Dance
Practice: letter recognition with the alphabet cards video. ABC recognition, picture, and sounds
- Turn the volume down to hear your child say them without assistance.
- Practice the letters/sounds they don't know or need to practice more.
Watch: Springtime
- What are some things that happen during Spring?
- What are some activities people do during Spring?
Science Activities #1:
- Activity: Take a walk outside for a Spring Nature Hunt. See how many items you can find.
Math Activities #1:
- Move: Whole Body Counting to 20
- Learn: about the numbers 11 and 12. Before you start, go to "file" then "save a copy" to have your child's own copy to play with.
- Practice: Complete practice pages 10.1 and 10.2
- Math Journal: Color, cut, and glue the 10.1 and 10.2 math journal pages in their math journal.

Practice: letter recognition with the alphabet cards video. ABC recognition, picture, and sounds

- Practice the letters/sounds they don't know or need to practice.
Read: What do you see? (for this website, click on log in, then students and educators, and then use Class Code: yyx7884)
- See how many sight words your child can read.
- The pages are predictable. Read the book a few times and see if your child can read it with you.
- Answer the questions on page 22 of the ebook.
Science Activities #2:
- Explore Rain and Clouds. Clouds are made out of millions of water droplets in the sky. When the cloud gets really heavy, it rains. In the spring, we get a lot of rain so that new flowers, plants, and animals get the water they need.
- Experiment: Rain cloud in a jar
Math Activities #2:
- Move: Whole Body Counting to 20
- Learn: about the numbers 13 and 14. Before you start, go to "file" then "save a copy" to have your child's own copy to play with.
- Practice: Complete practice pages 10.3 and 10.4
- Math Journal: Color, cut, and glue the 10.3 and 10.4 math journal pages in their math journal.

Move and Learn: Freeze Dance
Practice: using playdough (happy bag), have your child make the letters of some of the sight words (in the happy bag). Review the words together.
Science Activities #3:
- Watch How Is A Rainbow Formed
- Sing Colors of the Rainbow
- Make and paint: Using paintsicles
Math Activities #3:
- Move: Counting to 20
- Learn: about the numbers 15 and 16. Before you start, go to "file" then "save a copy" to have your child's own copy to play with.
- Practice: Complete practice pages 10.5 and 10.6
- Math Journal: Color, cut, and glue the 10.5 and 10.6 math journal pages in their math journal.
Make: Number spinner to practice teen numbers. Use an empty toilet paper roll and rotate the white paper around the roll and have your child say the numbers. Mix the numbers up on the white paper for a more challenging activity.
